CP Merry Days: Season of Joy

Hey Everyone!! In case you missed me, check out the blog over on SpiegelMom Scraps where I have been a guest sparkler for the month of February. Today on my blog I am sharing a layout I created awhile ago using the fun Crate Paper Merry Days collection!

I fussy cut the branches and greenery from two different papers in the collection. Originally planning to make a “wreath” design with my photo in the bottom left I pulled out some watercolour and mixed media go back where I wanted my photo. As it turned out I was not overly happy with my mixed media results and decided to use all my fussy cut things to cover it up and make a large branch design using the small branches.

Next matted my photo with a couple of the 6×6 papers and starting just building up my branch layers and adding some pops of the green ones here and there where to bring the design together. I used fun foam to add some dimension so nothing fell flat on the page. For some more texture I randomly added some messy thread in a few spots. Lastly I added some Heidi shine splatters in gold, a title from the sticker/chipboard sheets and a couple of the gold star stickers.

I am practicing to be more comfortable creating pages that have lots of white space and simple clean embellishing. This one fell right in the middle, and I am in love with the results. These papers worked so well together.

See you again soon

Christmas tags

I love creating a layout with tags! I fell in love with these ones from the Merry Days collection and thought all the different patterns looked great layered together.

I cut my photo into a circle thinking it would look neat if it mimicked a tree ornament.

Basically just the layers, some hand stitching finished with some paint splatters completes this layout! Super quick and simple but I love it!

The hardest part was deciding between a B&W photo or coloured! Thanks for reading.

Naughty or Nice??

Merry Christmas!! I haven’t posted in awhile- balancing mom life and work has been hectic, but excited to see what is in store for 2019!!

This layout I created for a challenge over on Scrap the Girls challenge blog. Using inspiration from one of the dresses for this months challenge.

I had fun with this one- I am in love with the new crate paper Merry Days line. Also was my first time cutting out the photo like that! Which is something that always both intrigued and intimated me! I love the result though and will be playing with this technique more!!

Hope everyone is having a safe happy holiday! Thanks for stopping by- see you in 2019!!!

Floral Wreath

I am loving how this layout turned out!! I played along with The Pink and Paper shop monthly challenge to create a fussy cut floral wreath!

Cut my florals from a paper in the Echo Park Once upon a Time collection, and also a paper in my scrap bin from the Night Night collection by Pebbles.

Used some Pink Paislee ephemera, popped up some of my fussy cut flowers onto fun foam and tucked in some thread for extra texture.

I will definitely be doing something like this again soon! Hope you enjoy
